TRAVEL, ROAD TRIP

CANADIAN ROCKIES ROAD TRIP

Our road trip began in Coeur d Alene Idaho, we only live 2 hours from the border, so seeing Canada was a no brainier for us! We recently moved to northern Idaho, and by the time our second summer had arrived we could take it no longer.. We had to go!

The border crossing into Canada was simple, it took roughly 10 minutes. It would have only taken 5 but the border crossing agent decided to confiscate the pepper spray I had tucked in between the seats. Pepper spray is viewed as a weapon in Canada, and if you don’t have a permit for it then it is considered illegal. Bear spray on the other hand is just fine. So.. Yeah, that makes sense. We crossed the border without further..

TRAVEL EXPENSES

HOW WE SAVED AN EXTRA $1,000 FOR TRAVEL BY DONATING PLASMA

Over the past winter, I spent a lot of time thinking up new ways to save $$ for traveI. One day I was out driving and happened to see a banner promoting donating plasma for money. After some research I decided to give it a try. To my surprise it was pretty easy to sign up. All I had to do is go through a short process, which included a questionnaire, a short physical, and I was set!

PHOTOGRAPHY, OUTDOORS

PHOTOGRAPH MESA ARCH AT DAWN

Throwing our gear into the car in the darkness of the wee morning, we set out from our hostel in Moab for Canyonlands National Park. We arrived early, but already there were two cars parked at the trail head. We hastily grabbed our gear and set out down the moonlit trail. We arrived at the Arch just as the faint light from the clear morning crept into the canyonQuickly we found a spot to set up our tripods and just in time, five or six photographers were arriving just as we finished setting up and within 15 to 20 minutes the place was packed full of photography enthusiasts just like ourselves!

As the light came pouring in through the canyon, shutters clicked and late arrivers scurried around the wall of photographers trying to get their shots of the arch before the sun fully peaked. Set comfortable in our spots we clicked away..

ROADTRIPS, ADVENTURE

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?

In 2016 and 2017 I road tripped some of North America’s most beautiful National Parks, having the time of my life hiking and camping my way across some of the most amazing destinations this great continent has to offer. I fell in love with the great Northwest so much that I ended up moving here! Nowadays when I’m not hiking and camping in the mountains, you will find me somewhere around the world searching for adventure!

WHERE AM I HEADED NEXT?

In early 2018, I set out on a 5 month trip to Asia, visiting China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Thailand, and Laos.

I am currently back in the States and looking forward to my next adventure in
South America come January!
